Pony Club is the largest equestrian education organizations in the world, represented throughout 30 countries! Through opportunities for instruction, riding and competition, Pony Club provides horse management education and horse sports for all ages. Programs are offered in Dressage, Eventing, Show Jumping, Mounted Games, Tetrathlon, Knowledge, Hunt Seat Equitation, Western, and Polocrosse. During "unmounted" meetings, members learn about feeding, shoeing, veterinary care, and other areas of horse management. Under knowledgeable adult supervision, the more experienced pony club members instruct and assist less experienced members. Many competitive riders at the national and international level are graduates of Pony Club. |
Who is River Valley Pony Club
Our current membership is 45+ riders strong ages 6-66+ living in Western NC and Upstate SC counties. River Valley Pony Club was founded over 27 years ago at Cherokee Hill Farm in Tryon, NC. It was originally called ‘TLC Pony Club’ which stood for Tryon, Landrum, & Columbus. Most of our club activities still occur in the Tryon, Landrum, and Columbus vicinity including at FENCE (Foothills Equestrian Nature Center).
Historically, as a youth program, the term "pony" reflected the age of the members rather than the size of the mount. Now, members of all ages are welcomed to engage. Horsemasters is a chance for adult members to be able to participate and enjoy all Pony Club has to offer. It was created to strengthen the overall delivery of USPC standards and mission by training adult members through effective education, motivation, certifications, theory, and fun! If you did not have a chance to participate in Pony Club as a youth, here is your chance to experience the learning, camaraderie, and memories the organization offers.
